Friday Foreword

Hello my fellow readers, I am still in a festive mood over a particular family member graduating from college, I might actually be typing right now with a slightly intoxicated persona. Today I would be talking about a planned sequel for an upcoming Marvel sequel, a possible movie adaptation for a particular professional kinetic thief , and a new trailer for a beloved game franchise adapted to the big screen, featuring everyone’s favorite thieving raccoon. In light of the petition to deport Justin Bieber, let’s get it on.

  • CAPTAIN CONFIDENCE

In anticipation of the upcoming sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger, word has gotten out that a third movie has already been planned. This decision was made after the Marvel executives saw the test screenings which was greeted with a positive feedback. Anthony and Joe Russo are set to return to direct the third installment. These means two things to me, namely first is that Marvel is pretty confident with the second movie and it also proves that Marvel is well into phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens on the 4th of April. What are your thoughts?

“Dude all I said was that you are not going to be in the third movie”
  • A HUGE GAMBLE

With the recent release of the character posters for the upcoming X-Men movie, another piece of news seems to have sprouted, it was reported that Lauren Donnen, one of the producers on the forthcoming X-Men:Days of Future Past stated that she would be interested in making a movie adaptation of the pilfering energy pirate called Gambit, a superhero capable of creating and manipulating pure energy at will. Lauren also mentioned that she would be interested in casting Channing Tatum in the leading role. I personally would not mind seeing Taylor Kitsch reprise his role as the character from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, as I thought he played the part well despite the turnout of the movie itself. What are your thoughts? Who do you think should play the role?

“There might be some strip scenes, I promise”
  • ADAPTATIONOUS RACCOONOUS

In the hail of movie trailers that surged this week, a particular one stood out to me, and that was because it triggered a spew of nostalgia from my childhood days. I’m talking about Sly Cooper, the infamous thieving raccoon and his trusty sidekicks, Bentley and Murray. The trailer featured the trio on a mission to get some food for Murray’s insatiable tummy. The movie is set to arrive in the first quarter of 2016. Kevin Munroe(The Ant Bully) is set to direct, I cannot wait to see and hear more on the development of this movie. This would be the second video game to movie adaptation from the studio that created the game following the upcoming Ratchet and Clank movie adaptation in 2015. Now I hope they can make Crash Bandicoot next. What are your thoughts? What nostalgic video game would you like to see in the movie theatres? For more movie news, stay tuned to hybridzone. Till next time. Szia.

Monday Moorings

Hello my fellow viewers, hope you all had a wonderful weekend, the snow keeps pouring and I keep staying at home more often nowadays, today I would be talking about an upcoming western comedy from the man behind America’s second favorite animated family, a mildly displeasing news for Marvel fans and a new franchise heavy video game with a touch of familiarity. In light of having the top nation’s armies replaced by robots in the next fifteen years. Let’s get it on.

  • THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE FAMILY GUY

Recent photos of Seth Mcfarlene’s upcoming western comedy were recently released, the movie titled A Million Ways to Die in the West, a title so long that it takes the time needed to watch a vine video, to read it out. The movie stars Seth McFarlene in the lead role as a sheep farmer who loses his wife played by Amanda Seyfried to another man due to backing out of a duel. He then meets another lady played by Charlize Theron, regains his courage and realizes his true potential when the Lady’s spouse played by Liam Neeson, demands payback. The movie also stars other actors like Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman, Neil Patrick Harris and many more. It would be great to see how versatile Seth is, and I truly hope the movie doesn’t become a mockery of itself(*cough*TheWildWildWest). What are your thoughts?

“No, you cannot reprise your role from Aeon Flux”
  • NOT NUFF SAID

This is a bit of a spoiler to some people, you have been warned. Comic book god, Stan Lee is known for his awesome cameos, and at the age of 91, he still looks like he packs a lot of vigor. Unfortunately, Stan Lee recently stated during an interview that he would not be making any cameos in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, he went on to stress that because he did not create the characters therefore he has no right to make a cameo. This ideally makes sense, but then again its F&!KING Stan Lee, the epitome of Marvel. I do respect his notion, but I would still like to see him in the movie. What are your thoughts?

“I can make a cameo in your dreams”
  • ONE GAME TO PRESENT TO ALL

Okay this is not really a movie news, but it was something that peaked my interest nevertheless because the source material is movie related, an 8 minute video was recently released for an upcoming video game titled Middle-Earth:Shadow of Mordor, which as we all know is connected to the Lord of the Rings books. In the pre-alpha gameplay footage, a couple of the game elements were explained from the stealth to combat to something called the nemesis system. Many people took to the comment section and started blasting the game for “stealing” from the Assassin’s Creed and Batman Arkham franchise. I do agree that some elements of the game were borrowed from the aforementioned games, but isn’t that what is called inspiration. Uncharted was inspired by the Tomb Raider franchise and yet it turned out great, Crash Bandicoot and Sonic the Hedgehog were inspired by the Mario franchise and they both eventually stood out. What I am trying to say is that people should give the game a chance first and see if it utilizes what it has learned correctly.I am personally stoked for the game because it looks really fleshed out and entertaining. What are your thoughts? Don’t forget to subscribe for more movie related news. Till next time. Szia.

Back Story: Phantom Labourer(concluded)

Hello again my fellow readers, so snow just started falling about two days ago in my area, after all the confetti we received through out December and early January, the Almighty decided to blow out a ton of winter cocaine on us finally. Today I would be concluding my back story on the Phantom Labourer. Stay tuned for my Monday Mooring post later today, in light of a Scottish river overflowing with whiskey and inadvertedly fulfilling Willie Nelson’s dream, let’s get it on.

THE PHANTOM FACTS
A person cannot become a phantom deliberately, even if they plan on rescuing someone who is in danger, which is the reason why paramedics and firefighters are not necessary phantoms. One only becomes a phantom by saving someone randomly and spontaneously. A phantom cannot predict his or her own death, unless another phantom sees it. Every phantom has a trigger, which is the person that the phantom rescued in order to trigger his or her ability. The phantom’s trigger is a very crucial person to the phantom because triggers can be used as baits to lure a phantom, making them the Archilles heel to phantoms. A phantom can always perceive where his or her trigger is, by placing a “death shawl” on their triggers which serve as notifications for the phantom whenever the trigger is in trouble. If a phantoms trigger is killed, particularly due to the phantom’s laziness or lethargy, it can cause extreme dementia and insanity to the phantom. Another peculiar weakness that phantoms have is proximity to extreme heat. Phantoms are unable to see visions clearly when they are placed near extreme heat. Tartarians are known to carry around pyrolignums which taser-like rods that they use to stun or subdue phantoms. Although robbed off their visions when next to extreme temperature, phantoms can still use their secondary powers. The life of a phantom is no easy task, as they are constantly being pursued or hunted, but over the years, they have have helped balance the mortality rate and they still do till today. The next time someone saves you from imminent danger, be sure to show your appreciation, you never know it could be a phantom just doing his or her job. Watch out for one near you.

The End.

This concludes my back story of Phantom Labourer, be sure to like and share for more back stories on my other characters. You can check my catalogue for the first chapter on Helix: The Ruby Sabre which was my first novel and many others like Code Red and Spectre High. Till next time. Szia.

Friday Foreword

Hello out there my fellow readers, I know that it has been a while, but I am back with more scintillating movie news. Today I would be talking about the addition of a director to a particular historical backtracking video game, a third movie to a career defining dialogue driven movie, and a new sci-fi movie featuring a certain bad ass bald action hero cop that we all know and love(until recently). In light of Google Glass movie piracy, Let’s get it on.

  • ASSASSIN’S NEED

Having the ability to relive one’s ancestors past seems fun and all in the virtual world, but it seems that news on the big screen adaptation of the popular historic sandbox adventure video game series, Assassin’s Creed is underway, Swedish director Daniel Espinosa(Safe House) has been in talks to direct the film. We already know that Micheal Fassbender is set to co-produce and star in the movie. As a diehard fan of the video game series, one can only hope that this is the movie to kick start a plethora of video game to movie adaptations. What are your thoughts?

“If you mess this up Fassbender, I’m going to hunt your ancestors”
  • COUNTER-TERRORISM IS BACK

Everyone’s favorite frenemies are back, that’s right, Dante Hicks and Randy Graves are going to take over convenient stores worldwide soon, okay just in case you are lost I am talking about a third act in the Clerks series. Kevin Smith, the visionary behind the franchise had stated earlier last year that he had been working on a script for this movie. Brian O’Halloran and Jeff Anderson are set to return for the movie, and it is also going to feature Rosario Dawson reprising her role as Dante’s girlfriend. I cannot wait for this movie, as this franchise is a classic to me. Are you excited for a Clerks 3? What are your thoughts?

“I hope my shop doesn’t burn down again”
  • YIPPEE-KA-YE MOTHERSCIFI

One of Hollywood’s coolest cops, known for his witty charm, amazing one-liners and golden bald head is set to appear in an upcoming sci-fi. Bruce Willis is set to star in Vice, a dark sci-fi action movie in which Bruce plays the owner of a resort, where the staff are humanoid synthetics that are used by guests to live out their dark fantasies and then have their memories wiped, but one particular android recovers its memories and sets out on a trail of vengeance. I find the plot to be highly intriguing as it gives off that Total Recall/Blade Runner meets Hostel vibe. I am a sucker for sci-fi and I believe that Willis has a stronger suit in sci-fi movies i.e. Looper. I am looking forward to this movie. What are your thoughts? That’s all I have for today, be sure to check out my Phantom Labourer back story, I would soon be uploading excerpts from my next novel titled The Knightmare Chronicles, which is a sci-fi noir set in a fictional universe where humans and aliens interact on a daily basis. Till next time. Szia.

“I should probably play Tubbs in this film”

Wednesday Watchout

Hello my fellow readers, I know it could still be a busy season for many astute students, but since I am done with my exams, I have decided to seize this opportunity to post more frequent movie news. Today, I would be talking about an upcoming western movie from one of Hollywood’s finest and most controversial directors, the delay of a highly anticipated superhero movie sequel and the rumors of a veteran actor playing the role of a certain bald and egotistic villain. In light of the Jamaican bob-sledging team making the winter Olympics, let’s get it on.

  • DO YOU FEEL HATEFUL…PUNK?!

There were rumors that renowned director Quentin Tarantino was planning on directing another western aptly titled, The Hateful Eight( a possible reference to The Magnificent Seven). Quentin himself approved of this tit-bit himself. He had stated that it would not be a sequel to Django Unchained, and he also indicated that he had written a part specifically for Christoph Waltz( Django Unchained). Unfortunately as of this month in 2014, Tarantino has cancelled the film due to a leaked script that went online, this is heartbreaking, because I was looking forward to this movie, but we never know whether Tarantino might change his mind or not. What are your thoughts?

“Quentin ain’t making any other western hero, after me ok?”
  • BATMAN VS SUPERMAN VS TIME

This was a huge announcement that sent various fanboys into an epic state of spasm, everyone has been anticipating a live action treatment for the two iconic heroes. As of summer last year, after Zack Snyder, the director of Man of Steel stated that the sequel would be out by the summer of 2015. but recent news seems to state the contrary, as the project as been allegedly pushed to the summer of 2016 with a quote “time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story”. This saddens me extremely as I was looking forward to binge watching all the huge blockbusters that are coming out in 2015. Chris Terrio, an Academy Award winning writer who is known for his work on Argo, has been sought after to rewrite the script. I personally think that it was a bit overambitious for the studio to announce the release date last year when they had not even developed a script yet and had not set a straight vision on what they want for the movie. Other rumors theorize that the reason for the delay is so that the studio can shoot both the Man of Steel sequel and the Justice League movie back to back. Whatever other news evolves I would keep you all posted. What are your thoughts?

“Telling the whole world that Man of Steel 2 is coming very soon would be a good troll”
  • LEX LUTHOR FOR EMPEROR

Another delicious rumor circulating the atmosphere is the news that Joaquin Phoenix has been cast as Lex Luthor for the upcoming Man of Steel 2. Although I do not have confirmed sources, it was reported that he was in talks to play a villainous role in the movie. Phoenix, who is currently known for his fantastic performance in Her, has not confirmed any of these rumors. Which villains do you want to see in the Man of Steel sequel? Be sure to leave a comment below and don’t forget to like and subscribe for more movie news. Till next time. Szia.

“I could probably shave my head, dump this OS, and become a villain, just a thought”

Back Story: Phantom Labourer(continued)

Hello out there my fellow readers, it has been a while since I uploaded any content, but while I was busy battling an entity known as boredom and focusing on my upcoming books, I have found time to continue uploading more back story from my upcoming novel, Phantom Labourer. If you missed my previous posts, you can check them out in my most recent uploads. Let’s get it on.

THE TARTARIANS
The Tartarians are a group of over zealous extremists who seek out and hunt down phantoms, because they believe tha phantoms are a scourge to the earth, abominations that need to be destroyed. Tartarians are known for setting death traps which can be used to lure any nearby phantom to a scene, and since a phantom cannot foresee his or her own death, this makes them vulnerable to Tartarians. They are currently led by a ruthless leader named Mordecai LeMort, who was preceded by his merciless father, Obadiah LeMort. The Tartarians have existed since the popularity of phantoms started swirling around. Obadiah was the forerunner of the Cleansing(the darkest days in phantom history), he was primarily involved with the plans in the murder of two-thirds of phantom labourers worldwide, which plunged the surviving phantoms at that time into hiding. Today, the Tartarians work with corrupt organisations who sought out to carry out assassinations. Tartarians have also been known to work closely with Thanathorns(rouge phantoms). One would assume that a person with abilities as a phantom would like to become a hero. But there are some phantoms after realising and activating their powers decide to use it for personal gains.

THE THANATHORNS
Thanathorns are rouge phantom labourers who have decided to use their abilities for personal and monetary gains. A phantom can gradually evolve into a Thanathorn unknowingly if he or she intentionally ignores his or her premonitions, as it darkens the phantom’s conscience. Whenever they get a premonition of a high profile individual, they sell their knowledge to the highest bidder and because they are also phantoms, they possess secondary abilities as well. Various phantoms and thanathorns have clashed over time, which often led to violent results. They have also been known to work for Tartarians, acting as privateers for them. Enriquez Vasquez Da Kidd was a famed Thanathorn, a half Hispanic, half Scottish rouge phantom, who was infamous for his persecution of phantoms and his involvement in various government conspiracies. Enriquez also had the ability of teleportation which made it difficult for phantoms to predict his movement. Enriquez was also fond of kidnapping innocent people and using them as human shields. He also made the Thanathorns so popular that various crime syndicates, most notably was the Irish mob known as The Rick O’Sheas, hired them for their evil deeds. But due to Enriquez’s aggressive methods, which also included the murder of a spoilt child of the Rick O’Sheas’ crime boss, this led to the infamous Siege of Bliss, in which Enriquez and his crew were pursued and killed by the O’Sheas. The Thanathorns eventually laid low for a while. Thanathorns were also known to settle disputes by engaging in a fight to the death. Whenever a certain Thanathorn was displeased with his current magister mortis( the name given to the head of a squad of Thanathorns), he could call out his leader and challenge him to a fight to the death. Lionel Kevorkian was the most recent magister mortis ever recorded, he was also known as the Mano de la Muerte. He possesses the ability to create and manipulate electricity. Unlike Enriquez, Lionel was a more calculated and strategic Thanathorn. He persecuted various phantoms and is one of the wealthiest Thanathorns ever. He is still living today, but his current whereabouts are unknown. Other Thanathorns have tried to emulate his reputation.

To Be Concluded.

Friday Foreword

Hello out there my fellow readers, wherever you may be, either hibernating in North America due to the polar vortex, or anticipating the snow in Europe or sheltering yourself from the rain in Africa. Today I would be uploading some movie news( I know it is not as frequent as often). I would continue to post more back story for the Phantom Labourer soon. Today, I would be talking about the addition of a Hollywood legend to an upcoming Marvel superhero movie, a potential TV show that would be set in Bruce Wayne’s hometown and a possible reboot to everyone’s favorite bald tattoo headed assassin. Let’s get it on.

  • GREED IS…TINY

It was recently brought to attention that two time Academy Award winner known especially for his role as Gordon Gecko in Wall Street, Micheal Douglas would be starring in the upcoming Ant-Man movie that is set to hit theaters in 2015. He has been announced to play the role of Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, a role previously assumed to be played by Paul Rudd. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios confirmed this news. It has also been reported that Paul Rudd would be playing Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man in the movie. It seems that Hank Pym would be retired in this rendition, before Scott Lang steals the Ant-Man suit from him. I am ecstatic to see another Academy Award status actor taking up another role in an upcoming Marvel movie. What are your thoughts?

“Greed comes in different sizes”
  • NANANANANANA…GOTHAM

In other news, word came out about the production of a Gotham TV show(yes the Gotham in the Batman franchise, and not the real one). It is said to focus on the early life of Commissioner James Gordon when he was still in the Gotham City Police Force. As this takes place in the premature years of Gotham city, Bruce Wayne is still going to be in his adolescent years. The show is said to have a gritty and procedural tone, and it would tell the origins of famed villains like The Penguin, Catwoman, The Riddler and many more. I am personally interested in this project because the city of Gotham is so rich with characters and story material, if you want to understand what I mean, get your hands on the Batman Arkham City videogame. Donal Logue was rumored to portray Jame Gordon in the show, but Donal himself has long denied it. I look forward to this show and I hope it has a similar tone to the famous HBO crime drama The Wire. What are your thoughts?

“Gotham ain’t got shit on me”
  • HITMAN: RESOLUTION

As of the 5th of February, it was reported that a reboot for the famous bald assassin of unprecedented notoriety has been planned. The movie was set to star the late Paul Walker, but due to his demise, another actor has been rumored to replace him, namely Rupert Friend, who is best known for his role as Peter Quinn on the Homeland series. Shooting was supposed to have taken place in the summer of 2013. The screenplay was written by Skip Woods(Hitman, A-Team). What are your thoughts? Are you anticipating another Hitman movie? That’s all for today, please do not forget to like and subscribe for more movie related news. Till next time. Szia.

“I do really miss my Afro”
